vice president : the person who is next in rank to the president of a country and who is responsible for the president's duties if he or she is unable to do them

ballot : a system of voting, usually in secret, or an occasion when you vote in this way

nominate : to officially suggest someone or something for an important position, duty, or prize

praise : to say that you admire and approve of someone or something, especially publicly

 

senator : a member of the Senate or a senate

profound : having a strong influence or effect

gratitude : the feeling of being grateful

grateful : feeling that you want to thank someone because of something kind that they have done, or showing this feeling

defeat : to win a victory over someone in a war, competition, game etc

stadium : a building for public events, especially sports and large rock music concerts, consisting of a playing field surrounded by rows of seats

troop : soldiers in an organized group

harm : damage, injury, or trouble caused by someone's actions or by an event

diplomacy : the job or activity of managing the relationships between countries

curb  : to control or limit something in order to prevent it from having a harmful effect

aggression : angry or threatening behaviour or feelings that often result in fighting

annuversary : a date on which something special or important happened in a previous year

civil right : the rights that every person should have, such as the right to vote or to be treated fairly by the law, whatever their sex, race, or religion
